Tip of the Day: Don’t be reckless
I have personally experienced two situations over the past couple of months of managers who have hired individuals to only let them go shortly (1 week and 1 month) after they hired them. They where let go due to worries about what could happen in the future with the business. These managers where absolutely reckless in hiring these people in the first place and didn’t have a back-up plan, other then to lay them off. What is worst about these two situations is that these individuals voluntarily left there previous jobs to take on these new positions.
As employees we must be mindful that when we make decisions we need to stick with them as best as we can, have a contingency plan in case things change and look for ways to minimize the impact if change does need to happen.
