The African Talent Pool

The African continent is alive with history, wildlife, magnificent landscape and a talent pool unmatched anywhere in the world that is eager for opportunities. The talent pool in Africa is filled with highly educated, tech savvy and global-minded professionals who are eager for the opportunity to bring their talents to the world stage.

I am calling on fortune 500, 5000 companies, and small-to-medium size companies to look to Africa for filling your open positions. The African people who want to perform on the world stage, bring a certain drive, focus, humbleness and clarity to their jobs that in many cases is unmatched. This is a talent pool that has gone unnoticed and has been passed over for bigger centers in India and China.

Many African professionals also understand and live by the motto of being successful in spite of the obstacles and doing what you need to do to get the job done. These are beliefs and traits that if your employees have or don’t have, can mean the difference between a company being successful and one the goes out of business. Your talent pool is everything, invest well and think globally.

Companies such as Hewlett Packard, Ericsson, Google, Coca Cola, and Bloomberg LP have been hiring talented individuals from Africa for years and are recognizing the value these individuals bring to their companies. These companies understand that the future talent pool that they will need to grow and continue to be successful starts with hiring the best and brightest from Africa.

So consider the talent pool in Africa when making your expansion plans or looking to hire local positions. Africa is the future and will play a vital role on the world stage in the years to come. It is absolutely necessary for companies to recognize this and hire talent from Africa, so they have a chance to stay competitive in the global marketplace in an ever shrinking talent pool in North America, Europe and the UK.
