Lying, when it is found out will almost 100% of the time get you fired.  If something happens, make sure you tell the truth to your boss and explain the situation. If it is something that is a big deal, make sure you involve HR and whoever else needs to know.  By telling the truth, you gain a huge sense of trust and loyalty from your boss and your employer
